The Creation of the World by the Divine Goddess Marissa.
In the beginning there was only the Goddess of the world Marissa the Divine, and her wise helpers: Mountain, River, and Tree. River told Marissa that it was lonely, so she created fish to swim about the river. Mountain saw how River had companions to lessen its loneliness, so Mountain asked Marissa if it could have companions also, Marissa answered yes, and she created Mountain lions and goats to inhabit the mountain. Marissa observed that Tree was still lonely. She made birds and squirrels to climb and fly about the tree tops. Tree thanked her. Marissa was so pleased with her newest creations that she wanted more. So, she made bundles of trees and called them forests, piles of mountains all over the world, and rivers as far as the eye can see. And with these new trees, mountains, and rivers, and with all of these, came more of their companions.
Marissa overlooked her new kingdom and became jealous of all their friends, therefore she thought up men and women. She decided to create many of them so anywhere she would go there they were. Every time she went to visit them, they were ready to worship her. But one time she went to visit and they ignored her! This infuriated Marissa. She decided that something needed to be done about this. So, she sommoned a flood that would wipe out only man. After all, she was still pleased with her other creations.
After all signs of human life is gone, she starts over. This time, to make sure that they are smart enough to worship her, but not so intelligent that they will defy her authority over them. The second time she was once again pleased with her new creations. But just to make sure they were behaving even while she was away, she formed a disguise that hid her among the seas of humans. But every once in a while she will find one who is not behaving anywhere she goes, so she gets rid of them, throwing their body parts up into the sky making the stars. Every time she found a person not behaving there would be a new star.
She still lurks the earth searching for naughty people so she can throw them up and make a new star.
